Surface Treatment

Surface treatment increases the surface tension of materials making them more receptive to adhesives, inks, and other coatings. Surface treatment can also increase the hydrophilic properties of materials.

Surface Treatment Capabilities

  • Plasma treatment is used to alter the surface properties on a wide range of materials vastly improving the adhesion of media, such as glue, ink and paint. Plasma treatment also cleans and activates surfaces thereby improving adhesion.
  • Corona treatment is typically used to increase the surface energy of plastic films, foils and paper in order to allow improved wettability and adhesion of inks, coatings and adhesives. As a result, the materials treated will demonstrate improved printing and coating quality, and stronger lamination strength.
