Hydrocolloid Dressings

Hydrocolloids are typically composed of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), pectin, or gelatin. Hydrocolloid dressings provide a moist environment to facilitate angiogenesis, aid the formation of granulation tissue, and encourage autolytic debridement in wounds with necrotic tissue. However, as hydrocolloids are occlusive in nature, they are typically not used to treat infected wounds.

PLITEK offers the following services to fabricate custom hydrocolloid dressings

• Lamination and island placement of hydrocolloids with moisture barrier films, foams, non-wovens, and release liners
• Die cutting to custom shapes
• Custom pouching and secondary packaging of hydrocolloid dressings for sterilization
